The Role

The Role

As a Benefice we come together for a Group Service on the fifth Sunday in the month. Some people are happy to travel to other Churches when there is no service in their Parish, others prefer only to worship in their own Parish Church.

We believe that this Benefice will benefit most if the priest who is to be appointed here can:

  • Help us to work more closely as a Benefice
  • We already have a small House Group which meets in Docking and is attended by others in the Benefice. We need inspirational leadership to encourage others to join the group and bring fresh ideas for study.
  • Encourage more families by spreading the good news of Jesus Christ within the community with services in schools and community centres.
  • Train a team of people to help with Pastoral Care in some of our more isolated villages where many people live on their own and cannot get to Church. Making them feel part of the community.

The Joint Council on behalf of the PCCs have made the following submission:

This is an exciting time and the incumbent should be

  • A relaxed and approachable person
  • Family orientated
  • Energetic and enthusiastic
  • A good communicator
  • A good visitor and mixer with all types and ages
  • Encouraging the young
  • Prepared to visit and to be seen in the Village, not just on a Sunday
  • Be prepared to respect the traditions of the past while meeting the needs of a church that is growing spiritually and in maturity
  • An enabler by encouraging the Laity
  • Be computer-literate
  • Able to enjoy working and being with us
